India Celebration of 9th Ayurveda Day – 2024

The Government of India vide its notification published in Gazette of India, Extra ordinary Part I dated 01st June, 2017, has resolved to celebrate “Ayurveda Day” every year on the auspicious day of ‘Dhanwantari Jayanti – Dhanteras’ since 2016 in Whole of Government approach. This year the 9th Ayurveda day falls on 29th October, 2024.

The theme of the 1st Ayurveda Day was “Madhumeh Mission.”.

First Ever National Day of Ayurveda being celebrated throughout the country today ‘Mission Madhumeh through Ayurveda’ launched the National Dhanwantari Ayurveda Awards given away. The First National Ayurveda Day is being celebrated throughout the country on the occasion of Dhanwantari Jayanti today. A Seminar on “Prevention and Control of Diabetes through Ayurveda” was held in New Delhi.

The theme of the 7th Ayurveda Day was “Har Din Har Ghar Ayurveda”.

The Ayurveda Day is to be celebrated with the motto “Har Ghar Har Din Ayurveda” on October 23 Among other important events that will take place during the celebrations include the launch of a web portal, the unveiling of Ayurveda Swasthya Samiksha Booklet and Ayurveda for Poshan documents, the release of NIA Nutri Cookies, unveiling of various CCRAS publications and release of manuscript publications.

The theme for the 9th Ayurveda Day, which is celebrated on October 29, 2024, is “Ayurveda Innovation for Global Health”. The theme highlights the potential of Ayurveda to contribute to the global health system through innovative practices.

The theme of the 6th Ayurveda Day was “AYURVEDA FOR POSHAN”.

To exhibit the strength of Ayurveda in our daily regimen of food through innovative and healthy recipes, the Ministry of AYUSH will release videos prepared by the National Institute of Ayurveda on the occasion of ‘6th Ayurveda Day’ tomorrow, November 2nd.

The theme of the 5th Ayurveda Day was “Ayurveda for COVID-19”.

The potential role of Ayurveda in the management of the COVID-19 pandemic will be the focus of this year’s ‘Ayurveda Day’ observation. Ayurveda Day has been observed every year since 2016 on the day of Dhanwantri Jayanti. This year, it falls on 13th November 2020..

The theme of the 4th Ayurveda Day was “Ayurveda for longevity.”.

The 4th Ayurveda Day will be organized on 25th October 2019 at the National Institute of Ayurveda, Jaipur, Rajasthan. Dhanwantari Pujan and the “National Dhanwantari Ayurveda Awards -2019” ceremony will be held at NIA in the gracious presence of Shri Om Birla, Speaker, Lok Sabha as Chief Guest. MoS (IC) for the Ministry of AYUSH & Defence Shri. Shripad Yesso Naik will also be present.

The theme of the 3rd Ayurveda Day was “Ayurveda for Public Health.”.

Ayurveda is perceived as one of the well-documented systems of medicine. Prevention of disease and promotion of health is the main aim of Ayurveda. Lord Dhanvantari is considered a divine propagator of Ayurveda. Therefore, Dhanvantari Jayanti was preferred for the celebration of Ayurveda Day by the Ministry of AYUSH to nationalise this system of medicine.

The theme of the 2nd Ayurveda Day was “Ayurveda for Pain Management.”.

2nd Ayurveda Day was celebrated on 16th & 17th October 2017 with the theme of “Ayurveda for Pain Management”. On 16 October 2017, One day National Seminar on “Ayurveda for Pain Management” and “AYUSH–CII Industry Conclave” in which the central theme was developing strategies to facilitate the growth of Ayurveda’s market size was held at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi.

9th Ayurveda day falls on 29th October, 2024.
